Meet Melissa Brown

What made you want to get involved with HybridChart?

I wanted to get involved with HybridChart for numerous reasons. I have the same passion for helping others that I did in my previous job as a teacher, and I admire the passion and talents of my HybridChart teammates, and their devotion to the mindset of continuously improving the success of our revolutionary product.

What is a common struggle you saw before people started using HybridChart?

I had the opportunity to shadow a billing specialist at Arizona Cardiology, and saw HybridChart from the client biller’s perspective. He told me that on average, HybridChart saves him between three and four hours a day, dramatically increasing his productivity! I also had the opportunity to visit Cardiac Solutions, where I learned that upon their initial launch in 2010, $30,000 in missed hospital charges was recovered in their first month with HybridChart, and that the software has made the work much less cumbersome! Clearly, unnecessary steps were being taken at these practices prior to implementing the software, and potential revenue was being lost.

What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends?

My favorite thing to do on the weekends mbrown.pngis to go flying on short trips to places like Sedona or San Diego with my boyfriend in his plane. Flying is liberating, and for me, the journey is the best part!

What is your favorite holiday tradition?

My favorite holiday traditions are exchanging gifts and spending time with my family on Christmas day. Growing up, my mother always made Christmas special for us, and these traditions continued this past year when we brought Christmas to her while she was in hospice. Giving her the gift of love meant more to me than all the gifts I received from her when she could give them to me because it was a gift we gave back to her.

What is your favorite quote?

“Mothers hold their child’s hands for a moment and their hearts for a lifetime.”

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I love to travel, and feel very fortunate because I have been able to travel to many different places. One of the next adventures my boyfriend and I are planning is a trip to South Africa. Going on an African safari is on my bucket list, and I’m looking forward to some incredible sight-seeing, cage-diving with Great Whites, and some close encounters with wildlife.

What are some of the downsides you’ve seen when people still use a paper charge capture system?

Because paper-based methods for capturing charges involve quite a few more steps and allow for a lot of human error, people who capture charges this way are much more likely to spend unnecessary time on these steps as well as lose potential revenue.

What makes you excited about the future of HybridChart for healthcare providers?

Because HybridChart was developed by a physician, it is designed to be intuitive to providers. This, combined with the fact that our team is continuously striving to improve the healthcare process for providers, and the fact that our software is adaptable to current needs and new advancements makes me feel confident it will continue to drive a lean healthcare system and evolve to a more universally utilized product, and this excites me!
