At HybridChart, we come across vast challenges, changes and trends every day.  From education to common questions or implementation, with our team’s help, we want to share with you some of these takeaways straight from the trenches of HybridChart.

Kisha Crofts, HybridChart’s Director of Implementation & Product Development, has been hard at work. Within her role at HybridChart she has the opportunity to work directly with our clients to implement the software, provide on-site and online training and optimization and work closely alongside HybridChart’s Development team to identify and prioritize product development projects.

Kisha works closely with our amazing HybridChart clients and shares some takeaways from implementation, education and some of the common questions she’s hearing here!

“One of the things that I encounter regularly is that providers feel like adding their own patients to the census is going to cost them a lot of time. I understand the perception, but I’d like to try to speak to why that’s not true. First of all, if HybridChart integrates with the outpatient EHR, patients can be searched that way and pulled from a database. Additionally, HybridChart retains a record of the patient from any previous admission in the system, so patients only ever need to be entered once. Sometimes, first time patients need to be entered manually, but that process takes about 10 seconds. The required fields are very minimal.

So yes, it may take longer than slapping a sticker on a piece of paper. But, think about it from the other end – there’s no need to keep track of all those little pieces of paper. There’s no need to then haul them from the hospital to the office. There’s no potential of losing them. All the data flows right to the billing staff in real time, so charge entry lag is reduced. A biller won’t have to track down a provider to try to decipher their handwriting.

The office staff can help maintain the census too, which can help limit the times when providers will need to add patients at all.

And, even if it does take an additional few seconds, this tool offers some amazing benefits in the form of census management, discharge planning (there’s a time saver right there – no need to call the office to schedule an appointment), secure messaging, and analytics.”

HybridChart brings hospital rounding and charge capture to the digital world for healthcare because our mission is to make your life easier.   HybridChart won’t cost you more of your valuable time, but instead will free up more time for you!  When it comes to healthcare, quality patient care should always be priority.
